I don't believe that women's health providers should be required to meet hospital standards. I had a uterine ablation in my doctor's office and don't see how this service is any less invasive than any procedure performed at a women's health clinic. Does this mean that my gynocologist can no longer perform these types of services without additional and unecessary expense? How about my7 oral surgeon? What is the rationale for making a women's clinic meet standards that other surgical procedures don't require.
These regulations will increase the cost of health care services and reduce access, particularly for low-income women and those who don't have insurance coverage. In short, this is another cynical attempt to politicize women's health care.
