Regulations on Women's Health Centers

First: any architectural regulations on women's health clinics MUST
apply also to men's and general health clinics.  They must also have
medical relevance and not be inspired by religious views.  To do
otherwise is nonsensical and discriminatory.

Secondly, the security and confidentiality of records must comply with
HIPAA.  State regulations cannot trump this Federal law; if they try
they will be struck down at considerable taxpayer expense.

Finally, if politics can be seen to drive how medicine is practiced in
this commonwealth, our state will become the laughing stock of the
nation.  Worse, it could drive an exodus of professionals to less
bigoted states and countries.

I trust that my comments will be considered seriously as the Board of
Health considers the recent temporary regulations imposed by the
Governor (against sound professional medical advice).  The Board serves
the people, not the Governor, and certainly not the republican or tea
parties.
