I would like to encourage Virginia to remove itself from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.  The utilization of alternative energy sources such wind and solar energy are too little, in themselves, to fuel an economy and cost of living which has already skyrocketed to levels unseen to me since the earliest time of my life in the late 1970's and early 80's.   While well-intentioned, these sources should continue to be developed and researched, but a new system cannot replace an existing system that is known to be reliable, plentiful, more cost-effective, and even, with technological and refining advances, cleaner and more efficient.  The added cost of RRGI, project at $330 million statewide, would be a burden to taxpayers and devastate economic growth to even worse levels than already experienced.  I therefore encourage Governor Youngkin and the Legislature to opt out of this proposal, which would cripple economic growth and delay recovery to an even greater extent than already experienced.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
