My home in Alexandria VA has been repeatedly impacted by flooding rain. Climate scientists have shown that increased temperatures lead to an increase in rain during rain events, which leads to an increase in flooding. We need to continue to participate in the RGGI and fight greenhouse gasses and also raise funds for flood resiliency. If you don't understand how important that is, I invite you to come to my neighborhood to see what happens during a summer rainstorm. Or you can invite me to come live with you while my house undergoes construction after yet another flood. Your choice! Virginians need to work together to fight climate change, and we need to stay in RGGI to work with other states to build a strong flood resilient community.
