The best policy would balance educational, public health, and parental concerns. The proposed guidance gives too much power to parents, a minority of whom openly intend to press a reactionary agenda which would undermine certain public health goals. The established review process gives me sufficient assurance that professional educators will make responsible choices. Parents who require more control can choose non-public schooling.
