As much as I would like to see alternative energy promoted in Virginia, Rocky Forge is the wrong place to build 25 wind turbines, each as tall as the Washington Monument, on acres of concrete in the midst of a valuable area of forest that provides habitat and migration for wildlife and protects the clean water of mountain streams. It is also a poor investment for dependable distribution and for hopeful shareholders and will be an embarrassment for those of us promoting good examples for the use of clean energy.
