Considering the background checks and investigation that the process for acquiring a Concealed Handgun Permit in the Commonwealth of Virginia requires, not allowing Concealed Carry in accordance with the proposed regulation doesn't make any sense. Not allowing Open Carrying of a firearm, considering anybody can do that, makes more sense. If someone is carrying concealed, a police officer can ask to see their CHP, and then allow them on their way. Citizens with CHP's issued by the state are, I believe, far more law-abiding than the average citizen, because they understand the responsibility that goes along with carrying a weapon. I have already seen some businesses that request no open carrying of firearms on their premises, but allow concealed carry. State offices should allow the same.
