The REAL problem we face here is that the governor wants to make a name for himself at the expense of state employees.

Instead of banning the public from concealed carrying of firearms in executive branch agencies, you should focus on repealing the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management Policy 1.80 ? Workplace Violence, which prohibits state employees from possessing, brandishing, or using a weapon that is not required by the employee's position while on state premises or engaged in state business.

Allowing state employees to also take responsibility for their own safety makes for a much better deterrent when wackos, criminals, or thugs, who may well be armed with any weapon such as a knife, bat, hatchet, machete, bomb, and so on, attempt to cause them harm than having the state employees throw pencils or chairs at them and then run and cower in place.  I like our state employees; they deserve the same right to self-protection as all other citizens.

Stand up for the rights, dignity and lives of ALL Virginians and allow ALL, including working state employees to exercise their rights enshrined in Article I, Section 13 of the Virginia Constitution at ALL times and in ALL places.  A big NO to this proposed regulation.
