I was a resident of Virginia for more than eight years as a member of the United States Navy. I still have good friends that live in Virginia and I travel to see them periodically. Rather than revoking the God-given and constitutionally recognized rights of law-abiding citizens, restrictions on the open and concealed carry of firearms need to be removed. That way, decent people who pay fees, pass background checks, take classes, and generally mind their own business will be ready to defend themselves and others when evil decides to visit. If surveyed, I wouldn't be surprised if most lawful, gun-owning Virginians even agreed to protect the lives of those who would strip them of their rights, if they were in danger. That's what good people do. Stop making it harder for good people to protect themselves and others. And stop creating soft targets for criminals and terrorists.
