Seeking a solution for a problem that doesn't exist for political reasons is an abuse of exec power

If the intent is to prevent executive branch offices from being attacked by criminals, terrorists or the criminally insane this regulation, not law, will have absolutely no affect.  Criminals, terrorists and the criminally insane do not obey the laws, hence their stated status.  The only impact this regulation would have are on those citizens who comply with the law, namely Concealed Carry Permit holders (CCP).  CCP holders, by definition and requirements of Virginia law, are not criminals, terrorists or the criminally insane.  They are, as a group, the most law abiding of all groups including law enforcement.

Disarming lawful CCP holders has only a negative effect on the safety of executive branch personnel by creating a "Gun Free Zone" which we know criminals, terrorists and the criminally insane exploit in almost every mass shooting in the last 30 years.

Sincerely,

Stephen Kiraly
