The right to live, the right to be free, and the right to pursue happiness. These are three inalienable human rights that I hold dear to heart. I typically vote democrat for the mere fact that social freedom, fiscal responsibility, and healthcare are undiscoubtable facets of these rights that encompass all others. I could go on to thank President Obama for recently making such a tremendous stride in improving our education system! But I digress. The thing that ruins our party is this continuous movement to limit firearms rights. By imposing on the rights of the fine people occupying the premises of recent mass  murders (I.e. San Bernidino, Aurora, Sandy Hook, Roanoke, Virginia Tech, etc.) the right of these dear people to have a chance at survival, and effectively, their right to live was ultimately robbed from them. This is unconscionable! The fact that anyone could be ok with limiting any form of protection for our families- for our children is madness! Governor McAuliffe and Attorney General Herring, I am genuinely sorry I voted for you. Mr. Herring, I assure you, I will not make the same mistake twice. Governor, you have helped give democrats a bad name, and I am finding it very difficult to continue to label myself as a democrat. You may be counting me out of the party in the very near future. I want to assure my friends on the other side of the aisle  that not all democrats are this ignorant or naive. I apologize for my votes, and I apologize for the party that used to represent the average hard-working, blue-collared American. To all of my democrat brothers and sisters out there who agree with social freedom, fiscal responsibility, equal pay, healthcare being a right necessary to ensure the right to live, an accepting society, a diplomatic approach to national security, and the right to keep and bare arms, please, I beg you, stand with me, and help take this party back to what it means to be an FDR Democrat, a Truman Democrat, a Kennedy Democrat. Governor McAuliffe and Attorney General Herring, get it together! The real democrats are waiting.
