A danger to public safety

I find that Governor McAuliffe's "Emergency" executive order, based upon the facts, incredibly ill thought and disturbing.

A criminal element that by definition won't obey the laws prohibiting murder, rape, and robbery, provides a sinister advantage over an unarmed populace.

If the Governor feels so confident that the removal of firearms from state properties under the control of the Executive branch is both good policy and necessary, then Governor McAuliffe should disarm the protective detail around and within the Governor's Mansion and State Government Office. There is no reason why the Governor should be viewed as a hypocrite when he makes such decisions for the rest of us.

This regulation should not be considered for a permament status, and the emergency regulation be withdrawn immediately.

Furthermore, and given the seriousness of this matter, I wish that the comment period be extended for another 30 days.
