Statistically it has been proven time and again that gun free zones do not work. Virginia Tech, San Bernandino, etc. all were gun free zones and every time, the shooters could have been stopped if not for burdensome regulations and restrictions. Government buildings are known targets - this regulation ensures that they remain unprotected.
