Please take seriously the protection of women's health!

I echo the comments of Diana Sinder:

It is essential that the state Board of Health do the right thing for Virginia women and ensure that the facilities that perform abortions are safe. I ask the Board to make permanent the safety regulations on abortion facilities. While the abortion industry asserts that it can regulate itself, the opposite is true. Since the emergency regulations have been in place, state inspections on abortion clinics turned up hundreds of violations. Even though the abortion clinics knew they would be inspected, their operators still allowed these violations to occur: blood stained walls, unwashed equipment, staff who did not wash hands, fetal remains stored in staff refrigerators. In addition, emergencies do occur in these facilities which require women to be transported to hospitals. Without proper structural requirements on these facilities, emergency medical workers cannot get a gurney to a patient-in-need. Please ignore the hoopla from abortion advocates about these regulations somehow violating a woman's right. The real violation would occur if Virginia allowed any abortion facility --where invasive life-alter procedures take place --to go unregulated. Please make these regulations permanent!
