Keep RGGI

Due to the passage of the Clean Energy and Community Flood Preparedness Act Virginia is participating in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative RGGI) and receiving funds based on proceeds from carbon auctions.  A portion of these funds have been designated for the Weatherization Deferral and Repair (WDR) program and are being used by the non-profit agencies who deliver WAP services in order to address jobs that have been deferred so these homes can now be weatherized. So by being able to weatherize these homes not only will more individuals and families in need receive services but greenhouse gases will be reduced, energy bills lowered, and homes will be healthier and safer.

RGGI is an important and valuable program that must be maintained and expanded. Eliminating Virginia's participation in RGII through a regulatory process or by any means is a detriment to the well-being of all of the citizens of the Commonwealth.
