Children should not be pawns for political activism

There is no sound foundation for allowing homosexuals  to adopt children.  Following CDC reports and the risky sexual behavior and life expectancy of homosexuals, the regulations to exclude homosexuals from being able to adopt should remain in place.  Christian adoption agencies do not have an agenda to promote a lifestyle that leads to disease and early death. The homosexual agenda does. Our society continues to ignore the very detrimental affects of the homosexual lifestyle in the name of compassion for the homosexuals.

Exclude the clause, "sexual orientation" from the regulations until non-partisan studies can be found that determine the long-term effects on children who have homosexual parents and until it can be shown that sodomy does not  lead to disease and foreshortened life-span. Sexual behavior and orientation information are essential to adoption agencies' ability to place a child in a healthy environment. Look what happened to the Church when it ignored the sexual orientation of seminarians: the priest scandal mostly involving male on male pedophilia.

The findings of the 2010 CDC report show:

  • 19% of the men tested positive for HIV – the virus that causes AIDS.
  • 28% of black, 18% of Hispanic, and 16% of white men tested positive for HIV.
  • 44% of the men who tested positive for HIV had been unaware of their infection.
  • 59% of black, 46% of Hispanic, and 26% of white men who tested positive for HIV were unaware of their infection.
  • 63% of the HIV-positive men age 18-29 were unaware of their infection.
