I work in healthcare, and have for the past twenty years. I have a degree in biology from one of the top colleges in the country. I’m also non-binary. The Board of Health is not making a decision based on science and facts, but on fear and hate. I’m half Black and have heard stories from my grandparents of segregation where they were forced to use “colored” bathrooms. These bathroom bans are just segregation all over again. Trans people are not a danger to cis people, and are in fact more likely to be the victims of violent crimes. The Department of Health has no business policing who can or can’t use the bathroom based on how well they perform gender.
