I am a DMV resident, a trans person, and a teacher who works with young children. Let kids play sports and let people use the bathroom. Children's sports is meant to be fun, good exercise, and a way to build friendships and comradery! It hurts no one to have trans girls play on whichever team they feel most comfortable. A trans child is a child and should get to participate in any activity that their peers get to. 

That said, there is also no evidence to support that barring transfemmes from women's spaces makes anyone safer. Since these bans have been implemented in other states and areas, multiple cisgender women have been harassed, arrested, and made to feel uncomfortable while using the bathroom just because people thought they could be trans. Women (cis and trans) have a variety of different heights, voices, body hair, etc and it is cruel and unnecessary to try and police this. Trans women in particular face the highest amounts of violence and murder of any other population and we should be working as a community to make them feel safer in public spaces. People go into the bathroom to pee and do their business, and I can promise that trans folks really just want to do the same!

Please Virginia, do the right thing by your trans citizens and do not pass this ban. I urge you to consider the wellbeing of these people as people and to look at the data. trans girls do not dominate girls sports. trans women do not harm other women in the bathrooms. To protect "women and girls" is to protect all of them, cis and trans.
