EVV System is extremely frustrating. If there is an overlap of even one minute between two care providers the care provider's pay is greatly delayed. Likewise if care provider goes over 40 hours by one minute. Calling in to resolve these issues involves lengthy hold, and often instructions to leave a message which will not be returned until much later if ever. Never got the alleged free phone. If "consumer" has to go to emergency room the attendant has to drop them off at the door and take unpaid leave. I do not believe the system results in savings -- far from it. The administration costs far more in terms of CDCN time and systems than it could possibly save in terms of wrongdoers. If attendants received a living wage and benefits the frustration would be offset but we ALL KNOW that is not the case. This is hard and skilled work with vulnerable people. The state is not paying near what it would cost to staff it. It appears the real intent is to avoid actually providing the putative benefits. Dead "consumers" and parents driven to an early grave are much cheaper I'm sure for the State.
