I believe this is too much of a burden on teachers.  As a parent, I believe I should be involved with my child's education, and take it upon myself to know and understand what is being taught, this is what all parents should do.  If there is a problem with the subject matter, and I do not approve, it is my responsibility to discuss it with the teacher, so we both can come up with an alternate plan.
