This is a reasonable requirement to ensure parents and teachers are having valuable conversations concerning the material being presented in class.  Parents are ultimately responsible for the education of their children, and teachers and parents are partners in this education.  This action is a reasonable accommodation to ensure parents are alerted to review the classroom materials and to provide moral guidance to their children.
