More Work For Schools

I am not opposed to parents knowing what teachers are teaching or what may be objectionable, sensitive, sexually explicit, etc.  I am opposed to a regulation that puts all of the work on overburdened teachers/schools and no burden on parents.  Our school system has several policies in place.  All parents have the right to request an alternative assignment or reading and all parents have the right to review all materials.  All a parent has to do is talk to their kids, read the syllabus for each class, and take time to review the literature.  All this proposal does is add more work for schools, allows parents to talk even less to students, read less information from the classroom teacher, or take less time to read literature.  This proposal will only add to the work of the school and teachers and remove the parent pro-active part.  What parent wouldn't want this proposal?  How about a proposal that requires all school to have alternative assignment policies, and all schools have a literature review policy?
