Parental notification of sexually explicit and/or controversial material with the option to opt-out of the teaching is a reasonable approach to education. As a parent and tax payer, I expect the public schools to teach children in a safe and acceptable environment so that they can earn a diploma. Barring the exclusion of such material in the curriculum, parents must be afforded the right to determine what is acceptable for their children when it comes to sexually explicit and controversial material. Thank you for introducing this amendment.
