I am a parent of 2 elementary school students and a public school teacher.  As a parent, I trust my children's educators and the county's choice of instructional materials.  I do not believe school divisions should be required to notify parents of "sensitive" materials. Even if a school division were to censor instructional material, who would determine exactly what is "sensitive"? What is objectionable to one may be perfectly acceptable to another.  If a parent questions the judgment of his/her children's school division and its choice of instructional material, then he/she should visit that child's school prior to the inception of the school year and read the materials him/herself.  If that parent finds something objectionable, then I'm sure his/her child's teachers would be able to find an alternative reading assignment for that child.  Please do not pass this amendment.
