I appreciate that the proposed amendment seeks to increase parental involvement, and I absolutely believe that parents should be involved in their children's education. However, as worded, this amendment is vague and subjective and therefore and holds teachers to an impossible standard.
Let schools address this issue locally instead of passing a vague amendment that will negatively impact the type of instruction students receive in schools across the states. Give power back to the local government and encourage parental involvement at the local level.
Reject the proposed amendment to the Regulations Governing Local School Boards and School Divisions [8 VAC 20 - 720] on Use of Controversial or Sensitive Instructional Materials
