We are a free and public school system. We serve the whole of our society. We are the mainstream. By adding this blanket amendment you are suggesting that the public school system cannot be trusted to choose the subjects that are mainstream and "public" and safe. Those families and groups who recognize they have values that may clash with their school system's "public" choices should bear the onus of researching and providing alternatives, not the system themselves. Our DOE needs to foster TRUST in our teachers, and curriculum.
