Pet stores are a bad idea

I have been a volunteer in animal rescue.  Over the years I have witnessed animal abuse and seen what Humans can impose on animals.  There are shelters of cats and dogs who could use homes.  And they need so little to make them content - food, water, shelter, kindness and care.  In ways that count, Humans ask the same.  Breeding more animals, and doing badly with them, is unnecessary.  Animals are trapped in a place with little attention.  And in the event of a disaster, how are they to be rescued or transported to a safe place.  It is not that we should not be guardians of animals, we should be better at it and take ourselves to shelters and eliminate breeders.   Please.
