Pets for sale at pet shops

I am 100% AGAINST the sale of pets at stores.  My husband and I bought what we thought was a healthy puppy for $2500 at a pet store and ended up spending about $20,000 in vet bills and major surgeries over the mere six years that he lived.  He had severe congenital conditions that were not evident until he became older.  This was devastating for him to endure as well as for us to watch him suffer.  Pet stores are only adding to the problem of overpopulation in shelters across the nation. Never again will I buy an animal. I will always adopt an animal in need from now on. Pet shops need to cease animal sales immediately and permanently. Thank you.
