There are way more issues to address than students being able to define terms that they actually won't face except for the schools pushing it down their throats. I am 40 years old and grew up in the 80's-90's and was always taught to see past peoples skin color, why are we now so focused on our kids judging others based on their race and CENTURIES old injustices. Maybe focus on standards where students are able to pass the SOL's instead of punishing students who DO show up and put forth the effort to better themselves. Maybe focus on making Virginia standards above the countries average. We used to have HIGHER standards and now you are all pushing to lower our standards or changing them to standards that the SCHOOL HAS NO BUSY TEACHING!!!! Schools should focus on the basics: Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic and leave the social stuff to parents and churches.
