I am a parent of two. I strongly disagree with "schools will be permitted to help a student explore, facilitate and make decisions regarding their gender expression of sexual identity while at school, without a parent even knowing!" as well as many of the other points listed.
It is disgusting that the school/teachers are becoming responsible for the duties of parents. The foundations of families are crumbling due to many failures but schools are handed another assignment--sexual identity. Society needs to focus on families, not "who/what do you feel like today?"
In my opinion, school is for ACADEMICS. Sexual identity and transgender issues should be discussed and handled by parents, families, and medical personnel, not school personnel. I do not want issues like this discussed with children. Let the parents handle this. If a child/teen is "confused", the doors to the guidance should be open for assistance.
I am offended and appalled that this topic is even being considered. Please, please do not let transgender or sexual identity issues be allowed into the school curriculum--at any age.
