Removing the requirement for postmarks to prove that a ballot was cast no later than Election Day is an invitation to voter fraud. It would be fairly easy for people to harvest unused ballots in order to sway a close election. If people cannot vote in person after the close of polls on Election Day, why should any absentee ballot with no clear postmark be counted? This is inconsistent.
There has been enough relaxation of election laws already in the name of "encouraging" voting. The proposal to remove the postmark requirement is irresponsible, at best!
