Hello,
I'm sure others have expressed similar sentiments, but thought I'd add my little comment to the proposed rule changes for state parks. Please reconsider prohibiting the collection of mushrooms on state park land. This is similar to banning the collection of nuts or berries: the mushroom is just the fruiting part of the fungus. Collecting the mushroom does not damage the fungus in the same way that collecting a raspberry does not damage the bush.
If this rule change is actually attempting to diminish commercial foraging, I would understand and support that sentiment. However, that would need to be dealt with through a permitting system, rather than punishing those who forage for individual usage.
Thank you for your time,
Sarah
