To Whom it may concern:
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the final stage of the 2015 Statewide Fire Prevention Code Change Cycle. As a Fire Official, resident of Virginia, and as an advocate for the safety of all Virginians, I would like to add my name in support of the proposal and concerns made by the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association,Virgnia Fire Prevention Association and other fire professionals across the Commonwealth of Virginia. This has been the most extensive attempt to modify the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code in recent history, and as such there must be additional time alloted for such a extensive re-write of existing provisions. As has been stated before, the entire process has been flawed with general non-consensus over the final draft of the re-write among the fire prevention community. Other than the approving the seventeen (17) proposed code changes found in Book 5 – Part 1 – Tabs 1 & 3 (Attachment “A”), to the existing Proposed SFPC as printed in the Virginia Register February 20, 2017, the remainder of the re-write provisions should not be considered at this time.
