Under the current regulations, it takes an individual entering the field with no prequesites and no required education 8 years to to qualify for the Conventional OSE license, which is required to initially qualify for the Alternative OSE license.
Under these proposed changes, it appears an individual entering the field with no prequesites and no required education could bypass the Conventional OSE license altogether and get a "master" Alternative OSE license after four years.
Specifically, how has the Board demonstrated that the public/consumer will be protected if these changes go into effect?
I implore the Board to reconsider all proposed changes to license classifications and specific entry requirements for OSE's. There has been overwhelming opposition from industry professionals since the proposed stage.
I strongly recommend keeping the license classifications and specific entry requirements for OSE's the same until the next General Review.
Thank you for your consideration.
