Recent events have once more proved that the abortion industry cannot be trusted to police itself.
Virginia worked hard to develop fair and necessary regulations to protect the health and lives of women like me here in the Commonwealth. Public hearings on those regulations have made it clear that our citizens support holding all medical clinics responsible for achieving and maintaining basic cleanliness, access, record keeping, proper administration of drugs, and so on. These are essential matters that the abortion industry has proved themselves unwilling or unable to follow unless the state monitors and enforces them.
Therefore existing regulations governing abortion clinics need to be maintained rather than watered down to pay off contributers to political campaigns.
Virginia's women deserve to know that our bodies and our lives are protected by state-enforced effective and enforced common sense safety regulations. Don't put us in jeopardy by weakening existing regulations that govern abortion clinics.
