As a man, I cannot imagine clinics that cater to men's health services being hassled like those that serve women, including clinics in Virginia. I think we all know men wouldn't stand for it. So why don't we give women the same sovereignty over their own bodies and their own health care choices? I care about the women in my life and I hate to see them made to jump through hoops and treated like second-class citizens who can't decide for themselves what health-care is best for them. Where is equal protection and equal treatment under the law? Also, apparently women's clinics are the only kinds of outpatient clinics that are subject to these burdensome regulations. If we're so worried about protecting people, why not require the same regulations of laser-eye clinics, colonoscopy clinics, clinics that perform vasectomies, etc.? I urge the Board of Health to abolish these capricious requirements that will only make it so expensive for women's clinics to conform to that they will cease to exist, denying women vital health-care services. Reproductive health-care should be between a woman and her doctor, not a bunch of political meddlers and busybodies who want to control what women do with their own bodies. Please stand up for liberty and repeal these anti-American regulations.
