I was appalled to learn that there is even consideration for imposing a restriction on photo IDs otherwise valued because they have an expired date. What does the date have to do with confirmation that the person presenting the ID is the person in the photo. Is that not the purpose fo the photo ID. Who is trying to put further restrictions on Virginia citizens' rights to vote. Elderly people may not have current licenses because they no longer drive. Some legally valid photo IDs do not have an expiration date on them. In addition to discrimination against holders of such currently valid IDs, this proposed change will cause delays at the polls as election officials try to determine if legal IDs are valid or if the IDs presented are no more that 30 days expired. We don't need longer time in lines to vote. There is nothing about this propsal that makes sense and I am strong against it. Leave the definition of valid ID that was scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2014.
Sincerely,
