I am in full support for petitioning that an amendment be made to accept psychology based Masters to obtain an LPC. I am currently in graduate school at Virginia State University for an MS in Clinical Psychology. I was disappointed to learn that I would not be eligible to get my LPC with my Masters program even though I am currently a counselor in the field as an QMHP. I feel that I will be prepared to pursue a LPC even though my masters will be in Clinical Psychology. You still have to pass a statewide test along with getting your 2000 to 4000 hours as an LPC-E regardless. I feel as though an amendment should be made, and again, I am in full support of this petition. -A. Bennett, BS, QMHP
