It is not the government's place to repress any expression (sexual or not) between two consenting adults.
I am old enough AND responsible enough to operate a motor vehicle, vote, get married, have a child, purchase and consume alcohol, buy property, sit on a jury recommending the death penalty and die for my country; yet I am -not- old enough to decide whether or not to go into an establishment that has nude/semi-nude dancers? Honestly!! There are enough problems in this world that need immediate solutions... other women's bodies and what they choose to do with them as a profession are hardly at the top of the list.
There is something seriously wrong with this situation. Why does the VA ABC feel the need to overstep its authority? Is it just doing the dirty work of the bigger departments on behalf of a conservative leaning power or do they really think they have the right to become the moral and fashion police?
Taken directly from http://www.abc.state.va.us/ :
"The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is:
An integral part of our mission is to control the distribution of alcoholic beverages while providing excellent customer service."
I see nothing in there about regulating fashion or deeming what parts of anatomy are appropriate for an adult to see. Control the distribution of alcohol, not the conduct of the dancers who happen to be in close proximity to it. Quit wasting money forcing an outdated set of opinions down our throats and just regulate the sale of alcoholic beverages.
