All medical facilities should be evaluated for basic health safety standards. It makes no sense for abortion clinics to be exempt. Medical procedures are performed in these clinics. Why would anyone object to basic medical standards? Many procedures have left women with infections, sterility and even death due to lack of proper health and safety techniques.
Many health and safety violations have already been sited by the Department of Health. If an abortion clinic can not maintain state standards for health and safety, then abortions should only be performed in hospitals or other medical facilities that are abiding by health and safety standards.
If abortions are truly only a small portion of an abortion clinic's purpose, and they can't afford to abide by the health and safety standards, then it should be no problem referring abortions to hospitals.
