Save Oxford House

My name is Cindy, I’m the mother of a 10+ year drug addict. After years of being in and out of jail, strained family relationships and numerous failed drug programs I didn’t think there was any kind of hope possible. Only after a devastating family loss did my daughter decide to go to drug court. That is where she was referred to Oxford house, which ended up being the best possible place she could have ended up at.
Oxford house ultimately helped save my daughter. It works so well because each individual is not only responsible for themselves but for everyone in the house. I truely believe that the self governing themselves part is what makes it work so well. My daughter takes great pride in knowing she answers to herself and the household. They manage their own finances, household duties, hold down jobs and every other aspect of daily life while maintaining their sobriety. It works so well because they are only accountable to themselves.
Thank you for your consideration on leaving Oxford houses just the way they are, self governing . They have one of the best success rates if not the best in Virginia.
