Keep Oxford house Open

Good Afternoon,

I am writing to help keep Oxford House open.

Two years ago I finished up treatment for alcohol abuse and needed place to stay I before moving into a place of my own. I did not trust myself enough to do it alone outside of treatment, and needed to be around other addicts who are in the same situation as myself. Oxford House is a place where we can still recover, rely on each other for support, and still hold decisions for the house fairly and as self governing, democratically as possible and start our lives over while starting/continuing our careers, sober. What I have learned in the past two years

I am the president of the house, as well as our house have members acting as secretary, treasurer, chore coordinators, and house service coordinators. THESE POSITION ARE NOT PAID POSITIONS in any way, as well as the positions that head the local, state chapters. We are not a "for profit" organization, and ALL officers live in the houses them selves. Even though we rent houses are rented form private homeowners, operations of the house stay within the houses. Or rent and utilities are paid by us as members of Oxford house.

Thank You

Matthew Mahoney
