I would like clarification in the Standards on the following:

  1. the Epipen issue just mentions that the 'code will need to be followed; if this is actually will be going through (we hope not!), we need guidance on how to implement and on which procedures to follow e.g. where to obtain, how often to weigh children just in case they might need an epipen, how long is that 'weight' good for, waiver for parents that do not want their children be accidentally stuck by a random epipen, insurance needed for businesses etc.
  2. the authority contributed to the superintendent is very vague, it seems the superintendent can make decions for schools based on unclear criteria
  3. the renewal licensing visit should be an announced visit, so we can make sure no one has a day off, or we do have a special event. Also, the renewal could be every 3-4 years, as we get 'checked' every six months anyway.
  4. It is a burden on the school to do a daily health observation as soon after arrival as possible. Drop off time is already a busy time, so why add this to the already morning rush, and putting more work on the staff's plate.
  5. To not force people that claim religious exempt from providing a physical is discriminatory, and might lead to others not wanting to provide that either. This should be a business decision made at the school level, and not something licensing can mandate.
