This petition makes a logical argument for VMRC to regulate these nets in Virginia waters. Shortening the nets to less that 25 feet deep, the average depth of the Chesapeake Bay, would reduce damage to the SAV and likely reduce the killing of game fish and other by-catch when the nets tear.
