Oppose withdrawal

To Whom it may concern,

I wholeheartedly oppose the governor’s plan to withdraw from the climate agreement. To do so is short sighted and fool hardy. The effects of global climate change are REAL and are already manifesting in very real ways around the world. Rather than try to withdraw from climate agreements, the state government should be trying to find ways to strengthen its commitment to reduce the release of green house gases. It clearly escapes Youngkins notice that it DID NOT SNOW AT ALL in Northern VA this year. I’ve also seems to be ignoring  the unseasonably warm temperatures we are experiencing. All due to global climate change!!

Despite whatever language which follows, I oppose his plan. The selfish money loving right wing zealots who want to make it easier for corporations to pollute our atmosphere would no doubt label me a tree hugging liberal. I don’t see it that way. No, I see myself as making good sense and putting our planetary health AHEAD of money. Last time I looked, Earth is the only planet all life on it has on which to live! There IS NO other place to go. It is OUR responsibility to safeguard our home.

No! I oppose eliminating or weakening any and all restrictions on environmental protections in any way or to any degree! Instead, strengthen carbon emission restrictions to protect our planet even more. The implications of youngkins plan go FAR beyond just VA. A decision to weaken or eliminate carbon restrictions and withdraw from this agreement affects not just this country as a whole, but the ENTIRE planet and all life on it. The additional carbon which would be allowed to be dumped into our atmosphere would not be limited to the atmosphere within VA’s borders, it will travel throughout the world affecting people everywhere and exacerbate the very real climate related issues now bring witnesses everywhere.

Please not only mandate VA remain a party to this agreement, but strengthen the CC requirements to make it even MORE difficult to produce and dump carbon into the atmosphere and/or pollute in any way!
