The State of Virginia cannot escape the environmental impacts of climate change that are occuring across the country. Local governments alone cannot solve the climate crisis, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is a common sense, market-based, cost-effective program that cuts harmful carbon pollution while delivering a multitude of benefits to communities across Virginia. It will have a positive impact on improving the health and wellness of all Virginians impacting Virginia’s marketability and way of life.  I urge the Members of the Air Pollution Control Board to continue Virginia’s participation in RGGI. Do not let our government be bought by lobbyists for fossil fuel companies.
