I write in support of Governor Youngkin’s plan to withdraw from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).  I resist ideological categories that classify only proponents of the RGGI as supporting clear air and a safe environment. Despite lower emissions in Virginia, RGGI has not and will not lower CO2 in the atmosphere.  Virginia generators and other industrial energy users have been already moving away from coal and natural gas.  So-called “green” policies have not accelerated that trend. It is time to move in a different direction."
