State Board of Social Services Foster/Adoption Rules

I am writing to encourage you to restore the rules prohibiting discrimination based on gender, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability and family status in adoption and foster placement of children in Virginia.  The only factor that should be considered in making these placements should be the best interests of the child--and a loving, willing home is usually in the best interests of children.

The fate of children in need of safe, loving homes should not depend upon the agency that is placing them.  State licensed agencies should be required to act in accord with State priorities--which should be the best placement for the child.
