Overall, Virginia's vaccination program should be based on informed consent. Every person or their minor child has the right to be fully and accurately informed about the benefits and/or risks of any medical intervention, including vaccines. Parents should have the right to decide which vaccines their child does or does not receive. Furthermore, medical and religious exemptions should not be difficult to obtain. Regulations regarding these should protect individual rights to getting either of these. Regarding individual rights, requiring vaccines for homeschooled children is a gross overreach by the state and infringes on parent rights. Finally, there is a myriad of evidence now that shows that the COVID-19 shots have a number of significant side effects leading to permanent disability or even death. Additionally, they have been shown to be ineffective at preventing infection or transmission of COVID-19. This shot should remain voluntary and in no way be added to the childhood vaccination schedule.
