I have been a foster parent in Virginia since 1997.  I have met many unfit parents who were born in the U.S., are heterosexual, and Christian.  I have also met many fine parents who do not fit the traditional family mold.  Single parents, gay parents, parents who don't speak English well, parents with little money, parents who can't walk, and parents who don't look like the children placed in their homes.  All of these parents love the children they have in their homes and raise them the way children should be raised - with love and guidance.  Please do not prevent good people from becoming parents because of whom they love or what they look like.  Children need good parents, and good parents come in lots of different packages.  All children deserve a loving home.
